Donald Clark is the highly experienced skipper of the Morag and has lived in the village of Tighnabruaich since the early 1980’s. He has sailed the waters of the West Coast of Scotland since his childhood, interrupted only by more than 30 years at sea as a an engineer in nuclear submarines. He is a fully qualified yachtmaster and has a commercially endorsed RYA license to operate the Morag. He has a wealth of local knowledge and he is only to keen to share interesting local history anecdotes with guests on the boat trips.
Archie Smith is his full time crewman who grew up in the village, served time as an apprentice boatbuilder at his uncle’s boatyard. He has even more local knowledge, and is the man from whom the skipper acquires his stories. He has sailing the waters of the Kyles of Bute since the Second World War, knows exactly where every rock, eddy and current is and, most importantly, the best areas to fish. He also takes great pride in letting younger passengers steer the boat under his careful supervision.
Rod Roberts is an occasional crewman who lives in the village and has over 40 years experience at sea as a Merchant Navy Master Mariner. He has worked recently as a Captain with Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries on the Clyde.
